CAPTAIN COLD by Ken House

I'm glad for having a reason to draw Captain Cold, to me he's pretty much the golden standard for villain costume design.

CAPTAIN COLD by Michael Walsh

Not too familiar with Captain Cold but I do know he's a Flash baddy. This one actually turned out better then I expected.

ALAN SCOTT by Gerard de la Costa

I find it really odd that Alan Scott's power ring is useless against wood or plant based objects. On the plus side, he totally rocks the red, green and purple pajamas!

KILOWOG by meaghan carter!

guys I chose green lanterns this week specifically so I'd have an excuse to draw Kilowog. End of story

SALAAK & CH'P by Ryan Bullard

I have to admit, I really don't care for the Green Lantern. He's nearly as boring to me as Aquaman (hi David) and Lantern books, or DC in general have the worst friggin' alien designs I've ever seen in my life. My gosh they're awful. So, needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to this week, but then I discovered these two freaks. Their weird, intergalactic, interspecies bromance moved me enough to give them a shot.

-Ryan.

p.s. You can see a bigger version with the "open link in a new window" deal.

p.p.s. Tavares totally ripped off my gimmick of ripping off space images from the internet. He will rue the day he crossed me, and rue it well.

JOHN STEWART by Neil Tavares

Hey all! So with this week, I didn't really know what to pick, so when I asked my miss, she said "What about Korugar?" This was a really good idea. So here it is! I was stuck for a cool looking BG, so I went looking and found an awesome site with some sweet desktop images.

So that is where the awesome image is from. I didn't mean to take an easy way out on this, it was just so pretty. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

I have been informed! (by informed I mean I just saw the comment) It's NOT Korugar, it's Xanshi!! Thanks Anonymous stranger!!

HAL JORDAN By Ken House

Here's Hal as he recites the oath. The rest of this week should be fun.

KYLE RAYNER by David Cutler

"I'm your worst nightmare, pal: a manga nut with a power ring."

When I was but a lad in the mid 90s, just getting into the DCU after years of Spider-Man collecting, Kyle Rayner was the only Green Lantern. He's still the only Green Lantern in my heart. O Kyle, O Wally... once you had it all.

I always thought Kyle should have been played in a movie by the kid who glued quarters to the floor in Empire Records. He doesn't have to explain his art to you.

SINESTRO by Michael Walsh

Green Lantern Corps is a funny thing, in my mind I really like the concept and the characters but in reality I have barely read any of the actual comics. I think my favourite GL has to be Guy Gardner but I thought I would try someone I haven't drawn before.

I wasn't a huge fan of the GL film but I thought Mark Strong's portrayal of Sinestro was by far the highlight.

BETA RAY BILL by Neil Tavares

So I feel like this one is a bit rushed, but I really wanted to get him up here. I had no idea who Beta Ray was not long ago. Looks cool enough though. Wanted to have him kick the crap out of Loki.

Take Care

Neil

BETA RAY BILL by Ryan Bullard

Beta Ray Bill. I really can't describe the cosmic level of awesome this guy is. Walt Simonson had some serious balls presenting an insane looking cyborg horse beast that could take down a beloved major character in his own book (The Mighty Thor), and not only get readers to take him seriously, but to actually fall in love with the character for close to 30 years now. He's so deliciously strange, everything about him is weird, from his creation, his name, to the way he looks, that you just can't help but love him damn it.

Beta Ray Bill by meaghan carter!

The first time I saw Beta Ray Bill, was when a bunch of us watched Planet Hulk. He flew on screen, and my first thought was 'what is this terrifying horse face monster'. This is how I decided to deal with my fear.

BETA RAY BILL by David Cutler

The first time you see Beta Ray Bill, you think he's pretty cool looking. Then you find out his name is Beta Ray Bill, and you think he's awesome. Then you read that he's a space alien horse monster with a magic hammer called Stormbreaker and all the powers of Thor and you divorce your partner, because only now do you understand what love is.

BETA RAY BILL by Ken House

I wasn't too familiar with Beta Ray Bill, but reading that he's the last of a race that was wiped out by Galactus was what inspired this.

The dimensions and texture borders are repeated from my last entry because this is the second in a series of three, to be concluded not next week but the one after- and not for any particular reason.

Also, I think Link week was overall, our strongest ever. It's been great seeing how much everyone's grown as artists since we started this blog just last spring.

BETA RAY BILL by Michael Walsh

This is a really fun choice by Ryan. I had a blast drawing the character but wish there was a little more time for me to colour him this week. Ah well...

LINK by Gerard de la Costa

I think I'm one of the very few people that never played Legend of Zelda so I know absolutely nothing about the character Link.

Don't judge me.

Happy New Year!

Oh thank god the holidays are over.

Enjoy this Legend of Zelda rap.

LINK by Neil Tavares

Hey all, I have to say, I've been a bit LoZ fan for my whole life. Playing the GB titles, and all the big ones like Ocarina of time and everything. One thing I havent seen Link do, is fight on the side of a large scale battle for the safety of Hyrule. He is always one lone guy, on and adventure to save the world. Why not have him at the battle front. Maybe as someone helping a general, fighting off waves of baddies! Think about it! Riding Epona, or some other horse into a huge wall of Moblins, Lizalfos and Stalfos. With Gorons, Hyrulians, and Zoras fighting side by side.

Meh, but it won't happen, anyways, enjoy the pic!

LINK by David Cutler

Took longer with this one than I meant to--firstly because I was intimidated by the level of awesome in the other posts, and secondly because I'm knee deep in Skyward Sword right now and its siren song is calling me from my brother's Wii even as I type this. Hope ya'll digs.

LINK by meaghan carter!

I drew this Link soley for my best friend Tammy, the biggest Zelda fan I know. Everything I know about Link, I know from her. All I really know for myself is what a cutie nintendo character he is!
